Product Settings

Configure advanced settings for your products, including locations, categories, employee assignments, and display options.

Overview

Once you've created a product, the Settings tab becomes available. This is where you configure where the product is available, how it's organized, who can provide it, and where it appears to customers.

Accessing Product Settings

  1. Open the product you want to configure
  2. Click on the Settings tab
  3. Configure the options below
  4. Changes are saved automatically as you make them

Location Settings

Assigning Locations

Select which location(s) this product is available at:

  • You can select multiple locations from the dropdown
  • The product will only be visible and bookable at the selected locations
  • If no locations are selected, the product may not appear in booking systems

Why this matters:

  • Different locations may offer different services
  • Some products may only be available at specific locations
  • Helps customers find products available at their preferred location

Category Organization

Product Categories

Assign your product to one or more categories:

  • Categories help organize your products and make them easier to find
  • You can select multiple categories
  • Categories appear in filters and navigation menus
  • Customers can browse products by category

Examples:

  • "Hair Services"
  • "Beauty Treatments"
  • "Massage"
  • "Facial Care"

Product Subcategories

Further organize your product within subcategories:

  • Subcategories provide more specific grouping within categories
  • You can select multiple subcategories
  • Helps customers find exactly what they're looking for

Examples:

  • Category: "Hair Services"
    • Subcategory: "Haircuts"
    • Subcategory: "Coloring"
    • Subcategory: "Styling"

Employee Assignment

Assigning Employees

Choose which employees can perform or provide this product:

  • Only selected employees will be able to offer this product to customers
  • Useful for services that require specific skills or certifications
  • Helps with scheduling and availability management
  • Customers can book with specific employees who offer this product

When to use:

  • Services requiring special training (e.g., advanced treatments)
  • Products only certain employees are certified to provide
  • Managing employee specialties and expertise

Tip: If no employees are selected, the product may be available to all employees or may not appear in booking systems.

Display Options

Display on Webshop (Items Only)

Available for: Item type products only

Toggle this on if you want the product to appear in your webshop:

  • When enabled, customers can purchase this item online
  • The product will be visible in your webshop catalog
  • Customers can add it to their cart and checkout

When to enable:

  • Physical products you want to sell online
  • Retail items available for purchase
  • Products that don't require appointments

When to disable:

  • Products only available in-store
  • Items not ready for online sale
  • Internal or staff-only products

Booking Widget (Sessions Only)

Available for: Session type products only

Toggle this on to make the product available in the booking widget:

  • When enabled, customers can book this treatment directly through your booking system
  • The product appears in the public booking interface
  • Customers can select this service when making appointments

When to enable:

  • Services you want customers to book online
  • Treatments available for public booking
  • Services that are part of your regular offerings

When to disable:

  • Special or limited-time services
  • Treatments requiring consultation first
  • Services not yet ready for booking

Best Practices

Location Management

  • Assign products to all relevant locations
  • Review location assignments regularly
  • Consider location-specific pricing or availability

Category Organization

  • Use consistent category names
  • Don't assign too many categories (2-3 is usually enough)
  • Use subcategories for detailed organization

Employee Assignment

  • Assign employees based on their skills and certifications
  • Keep employee assignments up to date
  • Consider creating product groups for similar services

Display Options

  • Enable webshop display for items you want to sell online
  • Enable booking widget for services customers can book directly
  • Review display settings periodically
